Lamas

DSCF3872

We ran into lamas several times. There are more than one type of lamas, but I must admit I don’t see the difference. It is a wide variation of colour. The alpaca has a shorter neck than the lama, but that is not always easy to see.

We also saw some vicunas. They graze high up, we ran into them at 4800 meters above sea level and it was hard to see what they were eating.

As a curiosity I can mention that i saw a knitted sweater made of vicuna-wool for sale in the US for USD 1500,-.
