Crossing the Atlas Mountains.

It was a certain uncertainty if we could cross the Atlas Mountains from west to east as the weather forecast said “snow in the mountains”!!! Well it turned out that it was snowing but the snowline was higher than the pass at 2300 meters above sea level. We drove in berber country with villages on the hillsides. It was a nice drive in spite of a really cold wind and much road work.

Berber villages. looksprimitive but note the sattelite dishes.

The Atlas mountains must be rich on fossils and semi-precious  crystals as there were many who tried to sell them.

See that green spot in the valley, a farm with olive trees around the field.

Fresh snow!
