Georgia claims it was the first country in the world to produce wine. The oldest proof of winemaking is 8000 years old and they have kept the method all the time. We visited three wineries that produced wine the old way with claypots dug down in the ground. One was old and the other more modern and they produced the wine ecologigally. Frankly non of the wines were sensationally good. But what really impressed me was that they told us that for a Georgian wedding they calculated 3 literes per person!
