Traditional dances at the Brahmaputra.

We were shown traditional dance twice in one day.

We visited a tea farm and walked through the tea bushes to an open place close to a village. There we were met with a group of young girls and a “band”. The girls started to dance in a line.

As can be seen, the line is broken on the left side. The reason was that there were two small girls and they were so much shorter so they could not hold around the others. They were really charming and they knew all the steps.

While the girls were dancing, the tea pickers came back from the fields, all women and all med baskets on their back and headband.

When we came back to the ship, a dancing group was waiting on the dock. It started to become dark, so it was a special atmosphere.
